Bio

Max Eckhardt, born in 1987 in Bonn, approaches life and art with a sense of optimism. Having studied Automotive Engineering and Industrial Design in Munich, he learned to appreciate clarity, balance, and the elegance of form principles that now shape his portraits. His design background gives his paintings a subtle structure, while his brushwork is free and expressive.

Max has lived in the UK, California, and Mexico, experiences that broadened his perspective and strengthened his belief in looking for the best in people. He brings that philosophy to his art. His oil portraits are not meant to criticize or provoke; they aim to uplift. I want my work to radiate optimism, he says. I try to capture the essence of a person their energy, their inner strength and translate it onto the canvas.

Each portrait feels like a quiet moment of encouragement: vibrant yet calm, simple yet full of life. For Max, painting is a way to share a positive outlook with the world a reminder that art can inspire without shouting, and that beauty and hope still matter.

Max lives and works in Berlin, where his paintings have been shown in solo and group exhibitions, including on Augustrasse in Berlin at aquabitArt Gallery (2024), in Kreuzberg at BAAM, and several editions of Suedwestpassage Kultour. Max participated in study programs at the Royal College of Art in London and the Barcelona Academy of Art.
